Films and conferences about Italian cinema
Since 2004 Italiaidea, Italian language school in Rome has enthusiastically collaborated with the University of Washington, Rome Center in the organization and presentation of our own Contemporary Italian Film Festival.
The cycle of films and conferences are open to the students of the University of Washington Rome Center as well as the other American universities in Rome who want to learn about contemporary Italian cinema and practice Italian language. Each screening consists of one or two films which are then followed by a talk given by the director.
Some of the most prestigious and critically acclaimed directors, both within and without Italy, have participated the past three years.
Paolo Sorrentino, Davide Ferrario, Paolo Virzi, Gabriele Muccino, Daniele Vicari, Ferzan Ozpetek, Matteo Garrone, and Mimmo Calopresti are just some of those who have given talks on their films and answered questions from the students.
